Ange Postecoglou Links Up with Celtic as Unseen Footage Sparks Parkhead Return Frenzy

Posted on March 18, 2026 by jewsport

Ange Postecoglou and Jonny Hayes have crossed paths again, though this time in a very different environment from their days together at Celtic.

The former Celtic manager, who left Nottingham Forest back in October, has remained active in football. He is now working with UEFA as a Technical Observer, a role that involves analysing matches across Europe, studying tactical trends, and leading coaching sessions. It was during one of these sessions that he linked up with Hayes.

Hayes, currently serving as interim manager of Celtic B, shared a photo from UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on his Instagram story. The auditorium was filled with coaches, and Postecoglou looked completely at home, fully engaged in the football environment once again.

Celtic B Face Important Fixture

On the pitch, Hayes is focused on improving results. Celtic B are preparing for a crucial match this Saturday against league leaders Bonnyrigg Rose. This comes after a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Tranent Juniors in their previous outing.

The young side currently sit seventh in the Lowland League and have ground to make up if they are to push for a promotion play-off spot.

Hayes’ Celtic Journey

Hayes first joined Celtic in 2017, reuniting with Brendan Rodgers after previously working with him at Reading during his early career. Over time, he became a reliable member of the squad.

Although naturally a winger, Hayes was often used in different roles, including at left-back when required.

One of the standout moments of his Celtic career came in September 2019 at Ibrox, where he scored in a 2-0 win for Celtic in a match where they were not widely expected to win.

Postecoglou Addresses Return Talk

Speculation has linked Postecoglou with a return to Celtic, particularly with uncertainty surrounding the managerial position this summer. However, he has made it clear that a return is unlikely.

Speaking recently, he explained that he prefers to move forward in his career rather than revisit previous roles, focusing instead on new challenges where he can make an impact and compete for trophies.

There has also been talk of a possible return to Tottenham, but for now, his focus remains on his UEFA responsibilities, where he continues to share knowledge and develop ideas within the game.

Meanwhile, Hayes is gaining valuable experience as he continues his journey in management.
