A Rangers midfielder has officially brought his time at Ibrox to an end after completing a move to Hull City.
Kieran Dowell has departed the Scottish giants to join the English Championship side, closing the chapter on a spell that never quite took off in Glasgow. The midfielder arrived at Rangers in 2023 under then-manager Michael Beale, but his first season at the club was heavily disrupted by injury problems.
Those fitness issues, combined with changes in management, limited Dowell’s chances to establish himself as a regular starter. His lack of game time eventually saw him sent out on loan to Birmingham City last season in search of minutes and momentum.
Although current Rangers boss Russell Martin initially showed faith in Dowell earlier in the campaign, the midfielder’s involvement gradually decreased following the arrival of Rohl, with opportunities becoming increasingly scarce. His final appearance for the club came in the Scottish Cup victory over Annan Athletic, a match in which he managed to mark the occasion by getting on the scoresheet.
Elsewhere at Ibrox, further squad movement appears to be on the horizon. Rangers winger Findlay Curtis is reportedly set to leave the club on a temporary basis, with a loan move to fellow Premiership side Kilmarnock expected to be finalised in the coming days.
