Celtic tipped to land 29-goal attacking pair this summer

Posted on February 24, 2026

Celtic are among the clubs interested in Plymouth Argyle duo Lorent Tolaj and Bim Pepple, according to the Daily Mail.

The Scottish champions are always interested in a bargain, and the pair seem to be just that. Costing Argyle only £1.2 million and £250,000 respectively, their market value still won’t be insane, meaning the Celts could land two great players for incredibly cheap.

This season, Tolaj has scored 18 goals in all competitions, with Pepple bagging 11. Predicted wages read that they may both be on under £10,000 per week, making this a very affordable deal for the Hoops.

However, Celtic will certainly not be the only club interested in the summer.

A few Turkish clubs are interested, with Goztepe among them. Minnesota United and Montreal over in the United States also have their eyes on Pepple specifically. Closer to home, several English sides are also considering a move.

Brilliant move for Celtic
With both players showing that they can perform in the English League One, it’s definitely worth a punt to have them play in the Scottish Premiership. Although our league is of a higher level, they have already shown that they are good players, and they would likely find their feet.

If we really can get one or both of these players for a low price, the board will be all over it. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that the club loves a bargain, and getting promising forwards with good goalscoring records in the green and white for a low price would be too good for anyone to turn down.

A lower price could also take the pressure off them a bit. Michel-Ange Balikwisha, who Celtic signed for £5 million in the summer from Royal Antwerp, has been branded as a “waste of money” after his shocking performances this season, and he’s almost certainly on his way out. The Celts will have to take a big hit financially if they do ship him out in the next transfer window, and it will go down as one of the worst transfers in our history.

If these players come into the club for a low price, that means that if we need to move them on, we’ll be able to do that, and maybe even make a profit in the process. If they hit the ground running, even better. There are no downsides to this deal.

Of course, there are many more months left to go until the window opens, and anything could change between now and then. It’s set to be an interesting time to be a Celtic fan.
