Celtic tipped to sign in-form striker from Scottish rivals

Celtic have been tipped to sign the in-form striker, who is only going to get better, from one of their Scottish rivals.

This January, one would expect Celtic to sign a striker. The club have a clear lack of quality up front. In fact, just signing one might not be enough. Kelechi Iheanacho has proven to be injury-prone since his arrival and even when fit, he has only scored one goal from open play in 10 appearances. As for Johnny Kenny, he just does not seem to be good enough to be a starter for the Hoops. Shin Yamada has not even gotten a proper chance since his summer arrival.

So, Celtic are lacking goals up front. And while contributions might be coming from elsewhere, the club do need a consistent goalscorer if they are to be successful in the long run.

Celtic do need to sign a goalscorer at the peak of his powers this winter. Bringing in a youngster to back him up might not be a bad idea either.

Kieron Bowie of Hibernian has been suggested as a possible option for Celtic, as he is viewed as someone who is going to get even better. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Peter Grant said on Go Radio:

“If I am Celtic, I would take him as well. There is no doubt in my mind because I just think he is going to get better.”

A standout in the youth ranks for Fulham at one point in time, Bowie is someone who is finding his form for Hibernian this season. He has scored 8 goals already, with the latest coming in their win over table-toppers Hearts at home.

At 23 years of age, it is not hard to imagine him getting better moving forward. He does have the physicality to trouble opposition defences and is starting to develop a penchant for scoring goals at the top level as well.

Bowie is not a striker that Celtic can bring in and immediately place as the starter. But in the long run, he can be that guy.
