Great news for Eddie Howe and Newcastle United as Graeme Jones commits
In a transfer update posted earlier today, we shared news that Will Osula will be going nowhere in January, even if Frankfurt return with another £30m offer in the New Year.
And to the relief of even more fans and individuals within the club, Osula isn’t the only popular figure set to stay put at St James’ Park for the rest of the season.

It was previously reported that coach Graeme Jones was being eyed up by the new Sweden manager, Graham Potter.
The former West Ham boss was keen for Jones to join his coaching team ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, valuing his previous international experience with Belgium and England.
However, despite an approach from Potter to be his No. 2 on a part-time basis, The Mail’s Craig Hope reveals that Jones has turned down the opportunity in order to focus on matters at Newcastle United, meaning no awkward reunion with Alexander Isak.
Jones is reportedly seen as too valuable to lose at this stage of the season, particularly for how influential his work and coaching has been to getting the best out of players like Osula and Nick Woltemade.
A snippet from Hope’s piece states: ‘Jones was approached by his friend Graham Potter recently and asked about working as his No2 with Sweden on a part-time basis.
‘While there was no formal approach to Newcastle, Confidential understands the club want Jones to maintain his focus on club matters and continue his brilliant work with the likes of Osula and Nick Woltemade. To that end, the possibility of Jones linking up once again with Alexander Isak will not be happening.’
It also seems Jones won’t be called up to the England coaching set up this summer like he was during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, so it looks like he will hopefully be with us for more than the foreseeable future.
