But if Nancy is the right man, and the Lions come back the way they should – rebuilding everything from its roots, including major changes at the top of the club – then everything becomes possible.

After the latest struggles and the ongoing shite with the Celtic board, who still refuse to listen to us Celtic fans, it feels like the last wins against Kilmarnock and St Mirren have finally brought some hope back. The Celtic Lions are back in this title race.
But what’s next, Celtic?
I’m asking because, in spite of these last winning matches, the Celtic Lions in green and white are still in a bit of a dark hollow and the future remains uncertain. A lot of questions will finally be answered if and when Wilfried Nancy accepts the offer to lead the Champions of Scotland for the years to come.
As I’ve said a couple of times, it is imperative for Celtic to retake their place at the top. I’ve heard some silly folk suggest we might be in a transitional season; at Celtic, even those have to be winning campaigns. So we need improvements, fresh blood in the squad, and, last but not least, someone who can bring people together by inspiring hope and showing us a vision. Someone who can wake The Bhoys up and lead them towards the Treble again.
Recent weeks have given us a light of hope as talks with Nancy continue. I think Wilfried Nancy would be a brilliant manager because he has something exciting about him, which is exactly what we need following Rodgers’ departure.
He is tactically innovative – a “mad scientist” type – who emphasises brave, possession-based, attacking football alongside a calm, empathetic “players’ coach” personality focused on human development and strong team culture.
Nancy’s teams are never boring. They adopt an aggressive style built on regaining the ball quickly and pushing forward. That’s exactly what Celtic need, right? Never-boring games, strong tactics, attacking, pushing forward, scoring goals all the time. Nancy is meticulous too – drilling players on movement, positioning and understanding the difference between intention and expectation to keep a team calm and composed. He’s clever, he sees potential in every player, and he helps them spread their wings on the pitch.
But as the AGM and other recent events show, another thing Celtic need – alongside a new manager – is change inside the boardroom. Even if it’s simply the same people doing things in a better way. A bit of freshness. On the pitch, better tactics and improvements through the whole squad. Off it, imagination and daring. A willingness to take a chance once in a while. If all that works… imagine how dazzling the Celtic Lions could be.
Right now, Celtic fans should be worried not only because of the board but because even the teams from the bottom of the Scottish Premiership are capable of hurting us when we’re not at our best.
This board really must wake up and start to analyse whether they are still the people to take us forward. Fergus McCann must be heartbroken seeing how the club is run right now. Everything he’s done for Celtic still follows us even today. They never built on the foundations he laid, and having one person run the club is not what he wanted.
