Newcastle man ‘wants to leave’ – Transfer idea in mind, suitors given encouragement

Newcastle United striker Will Osula wants to move to Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window.

That’s according to the BILD programme ‘True or not True’, via Fussball Transfers. They report that Osula wants to leave Newcastle for the German side in the January transfer window.

Eintracht tried to sign him in the summer transfer window. A loan deal with a permanent clause was negotiated and on the verge of being completed. But it was later cancelled by Newcastle’s owners at the last minute.

They decreed that no other players would be leaving Newcastle after the late drama with Alexander Isak. That left Osula at St James Park and Eintracht frustrated.

The German side’s interest has not gone away, though. Several reports since the summer have insisted, they’ll try again in the January transfer window. BILD now say they would be smart to do so as Osula ‘would still like to move to Frankfurt’.

According to them, they are also in ‘pole position’ to sign the striker. They face potential competition from VfB Stuttgart for his signature.

Any deal won’t come cheap. BILD estimate a package of at least €25m. That’s the same figure they were quoted in the summer. They do state, though, that it is ‘quite conceivable’ that a loan deal is being initially planned. That would presumably be a loan deal with an obligation or a purchase option at the €25m price Newcastle want.

Osula ‘wants to leave’ Newcastle, though. And that gives their window to revive their failed summer move.
