Leicester Dropped MASSIVE Points Because of ONE Man – The Daka Disaster Everyone’s Talking About

Posted on March 21, 2026

Leicester City suffered a significant setback in their fight for survival following a goalless draw against Watford on March 21, 2026, at Vicarage Road.

In a match widely viewed as must-win, Leicester were unable to capitalise on key opportunities, leaving them entrenched in the Championship relegation zone when a victory could have provided a vital boost.

The spotlight inevitably fell on Patson Daka, who endured a difficult afternoon in front of goal. The forward missed a first-half penalty after Egil Selvik produced an excellent save, pushing the effort onto the post. The chance came after Abdul Fatawu was fouled in the box by Formose Mendy.

Daka’s struggles continued early in the second half, when he failed to convert a close-range header, missing a clear opportunity that could have changed the course of the match.

Statistically, it was a challenging outing for the striker, with limited impact in key attacking areas and missed chances proving costly. Leicester have now failed to convert their last three penalties, highlighting a growing concern in decisive moments.

After the match, manager Gary Rowett adopted a measured tone, stressing that missed penalties are part of the game while acknowledging the team’s need for greater composure and clinical finishing in crucial situations.

Despite controlling large spells of possession, Leicester lacked the cutting edge required to break down a relatively passive Watford side. The dropped points could prove pivotal as the season progresses, particularly given the club’s current position near the foot of the table.

With the international break approaching, Leicester face mounting pressure to respond quickly. Should relegation materialise, this fixture may be remembered as a missed opportunity at a critical stage of the campaign.
