Junior Adamu announced his arrival at Celtic with a goal at the death to rescue their Scottish Cup run.
Junior Adamu has made himself known in Glasgow after he scored to save Celtic’s Scottish Cup run just 18 minutes into his debut.
The Hoops were trailing Dundee after Ethan Hamilton scored in the 49th minute to put the away side in front. Celtic kept pushing but couldn’t find a breakthrough, and supporters were getting frustrated.
Tomas Cvancara was brought off for Junior Adamu with just 11 minutes to play of normal time, and in the seventh minute of added time, the striker found the goal that rescued Celtic’s cup run with the last kick of the ball.
Sebastian Tounekti got the assist as Adamu had the guts to attempt a backheel. Luckily for him, he got enough on it to send it right past the goalkeeper and into the net.

Absolutely outstanding that Celtic kept fighting right until the end. At points this season, under both Brendan Rodgers and Wilfried Nancy, the Celts seemed to almost give up, but this performance will give supporters flashbacks of a certain Australian man and his screams of, “We never stop.”
Now comes the question of who deserves to start: Cvancara or Adamu?
Cvancara also got off to a flying start in Glasgow with an assist on his debut and a goal in his second game. Now, O’Neill will have a headache deciding who to start in that central position.
That in itself is a massive positive though. The Hoops have struggled this season with the likes of Johnny Kenny simply not doing the job up front, so it’s better to have two good strikers than none.
Both Tounekti and Adamu did incredibly well coming off the bench. They are clearly trying to prove why they deserve to start, and surely O’Neill will have to take a look now.
Adamu was included in the Europa League squad, which will excite Celtic fans. Not only do they have their saviour domestically, but they also have him on the European stage. Hopefully, he can pop up with more goals in the tie against VfB Stuttgart.
As has been discussed, Celtic are coming to a period in their season where they will be forced to rotate if they want to keep winning. There is a period at the end of February going into March where the Celts don’t have a mid-week break, and that will continue should they qualify for the next stage of the Europa League.
With both Cvancara and Adamu being in form, there should be no doubt that we’ll be seeing both of them rotated in and out on a regular basis. That alone will be enough to excite every supporter of the Hoops.
