SHOCK REJECTION! Rangers SLAM Door on Hull City’s Desperate Bid for Nicolas Raskin

Posted on July 14, 2026July 14, 2026 by Jsport

Hull City have had an opening bid in the region of £12-14m for Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin turned down, with Ibrox holding out for a fee in excess of £20m.

According to the Yorkshire Post, the Championship promotion winners lodged the bid as their first concrete move for the Belgium international,

but Rangers Review and TeamTalk both report the package falls well short of what Rangers consider the 25-year-old’s value following his performances for Belgium at the World Cup.

Raskin has made 145 appearances and scored 13 goals since joining from Standard Liege in January 2023.

Serie A Interest Complicates Hull’s Nicolas Raskin Pursuit
Rangers are said to be entirely unbothered by Hull’s opening offer,

with TeamTalk reporting that Atalanta are among the frontrunners for Raskin’s signature and Real Betis have also made contact with his representatives to discuss terms.

Bologna’s interest, tracked since earlier in the window, adds a third source of competition that Rangers Review understands is helping Ibrox push the asking price toward the £20m mark.

TeamTalk also cited Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith’s assessment that Raskin could be a shrewd addition for Hull as they prepare for Premier League football, though Smith cautioned the midfielder should be ready to “lose most weeks” if he makes the move to a promoted side.

Rangers are not actively looking to sell Raskin and will not block a departure if the Belgian pushes to leave, according to Rangers Review, but the current gap between Hull’s valuation and Ibrox’s £20m-plus demand suggests a deal remains some way off.

Any sale would eclipse the £20m banked for Rangers’ record sale under the club’s current board, adding further transfer funds to Derek McInnes’ summer rebuild of the Ibrox squad.
