Celtic Target Attracts €8m Bid as Fabrizio Romano Confirms Interest

Posted on January 29, 2026

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that a bid in the region of €8 million has been made for the Celtic target.

With merely days left in the January transfer window, Celtic find themselves in a bad position once again. They still need to make quite a few signings if they want to give Martin O’Neill a genuine chance of going on and winning this title race. Otherwise, bringing him back was pretty pointless, as the Northern Irishman will be spending the next several months in the hot seat, most probably his last as a manager, without anything to play for.

CELTIC FIRST JANUARY TRANSFER CONFIRMED BY FABRIZIO ROMANO AS OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS SIGNED UNDER MARTIN O’NEILL

If nothing else, O’Neill needs to be backed as appreciation for taking the call in an hour of need, not once but twice this season. At first, he replaced Brendan Rodgers after the former Celtic boss resigned. Then he was brought back after Wilfried Nancy was sacked after just eight games in charge, which produced six defeats.

Celtic have brought in one striker on loan this winter. And it is believed that they want to sign another one.

Kasper Hogh of Bodo/Glimt is someone believed to be on their radar and reports have claimed that an approach has even been made. But there is some worrying news if you are hoping to see the Norwegian striker end up at Celtic this winter.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Norwich have submitted €8m package proposal (add-ons included) for Hogh. Negotiations are ongoing with Bodo-Glimt.

It remains to be seen if Norwich City are able to agree a deal with Bodo/Glimt for Hogh. But do you see Celtic going out and spending that kind of money on a striker in the last few days of the winter window?

To be very honest, we do not. Everything we have seen so far this month suggests that the club would be much more comfortable bringing in someone on loan.
