Posted on February 14, 2026 by Jsport

The Auburn Tigers landed a major in-state recruiting victory when Hueytown, Alabama defensive lineman announced his commitment to the program.

The pledge gives head coach Alex Golesh his second addition to the 2027 recruiting class. Standing 6 foot 4 and weighing 280 pounds, Moore is considered one of the premier prospects in the country.

He checks in at No. 52 nationally in the 2027 Rivals300 rankings and is rated as the No. 5 defensive lineman in the nation. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is listed as the No. 72 overall player in the country, a top five defensive lineman, and the No. 1 recruit in Alabama.

Top star selected Auburn over a long list of powerhouse programs, including Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Ole Miss, and USC, along with more than 30 total scholarship offers. The Tigers positioned themselves as the favorite after extending an offer last fall, and Moore publicly identified Auburn as his top choice on February 1 following a campus visit. After returning to campus for Junior Day, he made his decision official on social media Thursday, posting, “All glory to god, im staying home WAR DAMN EAGLE.”

During his sophomore season at Hueytown High School, Moore delivered an impressive stat line with 58 tackles, nine tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions that he returned for touchdowns. His production on the field, paired with consistent top 100 national recognition from recruiting outlets, established him as one of the most coveted defensive prospects in the 2027 cycle.

Defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams, defensive coordinator DJ Durkin, and director of player personnel Alex Fagan all played key roles in securing his commitment. Moore is scheduled to return to Auburn for an official visit on June 5.
