Fares Ghedjemis is enjoying a breakthrough season with Frosinone, and Celtic remain firmly in the race for his signature. The Scottish giants attempted to sign the winger during the January transfer window, and fresh comments from his camp have now offered encouragement ahead of a potential summer move.
Celtic had previously submitted an official bid for the attacker, but it was swiftly rejected by Frosinone, who were unwilling to sell without securing a replacement mid-season.
Since then, Ghedjemis has gone from strength to strength. The 23-year-old has made 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and playing a key role in Frosinone’s push for promotion. His recent strikes against South Tyrol and Cesena have only added to his growing reputation.
Speaking at the Palermo Football Meeting, the player’s agent, Fabrizio Ferrari, confirmed that interest from Celtic was real and acknowledged that the January offer had been turned down. He also revealed that the decision to stay was largely driven by the player himself, who was determined to help Frosinone in their promotion bid before considering his next step.
Ferrari hinted that the situation could change in the summer, suggesting Ghedjemis’ future remains open once the season concludes.
Deal May Not Be Straightforward for Celtic
Securing a deal will not be easy for Celtic. The winger’s impressive form has attracted wider attention, with potential interest from Serie A clubs likely to emerge.
Frosinone, who signed Ghedjemis for just €300,000 in 2024, are now in a strong position to demand a significantly higher fee.
