Celtic make move for Norwegian striker after brace vs Man City- Celtic appear to have made a late move in the transfer window for a striker who recently caught the eye with a standout performance against Manchester City.

Posted on January 27, 2026 by Jsport

This winter, the plan always seemed to be signing a couple of strikers. That is understandable considering the lack of depth up top for Celtic at the moment. They never replaced Kyogo when he left last year, and then allowed Adam Idah to head for the exit door on top of that. Nicolas Kuhn departed as well, and while a winger, the German was one of the Hoops’ most consistent goalscorers last season.

So, all things considered, a lot of goals have exited Celtic Park, and not been replaced. This summer, Celtic have signed one striker in the form of Tomas Cvancara. He made his debut against Hearts, and while he did not score, Martin O’Neill seemed happy with his movement.

More help is needed in that area of the pitch though. And it appears that Celtic have set their eyes on a striker who recently played a starring role in Bodo/Glimt’s historic win over Manchester City in the Champions League.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic have made contact over a deal for Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh. Norwich City also want him.

Hogh has been a solid contributor throughout his time at Bodo/Glimt. He has scored 42 goals and provided 12 assists in 82 appearances for the club.

His biggest success, of course, was his brace in the club’s 3-1 win over Manchester City in their recent Champions League meeting. That result will go down in Bodo/Glimt history.

It remains to be seen how things will play out for Celtic in the remaining days of the window. They need to sign a striker. Someone like Hogh would be a great addition in that regard. Now, it remains to be seen if the Hoops are successful in getting him to Parkhead.
